Indianapolis Fails to Hold on to Lead and Lose 28-24

Curtis Painter and the rest of the Colts started the game red hot, but could not finish off the 2-3 Kansas City Chiefs. Painter began the game 12-17 for 237 yards and two touchdowns, both to Pierre Garcon, giving the Colts a 17-0 lead.

After a long 41 yard touchdown pass from Cassel to Bowe, and then another touchdown pass to Steve Breaston, the Chiefs went into the half only down ten, at 24-14.

Besides the two receivers Bowe and Breaston who caught another touchdown apiece in the second half, Chief’s reserve running back Jackie Battle had a big day against the Indianapolis defense, rushing for 119 yards on 19 carries.

With Cassel’s two touchdown passes (four on the day) in the second half the Chiefs were able to beat the Colts 28-24, and send Indy packing at 0-5.

The Colts will start a three game road trip next week beginning in Cincinnati, which will be a winnable game, the trouble will be for Indianapolis to get it done.
